Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect what we need to run a marketplace and nothing more. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not track you around the internet.

What we collect

When you create an account

Your name, email address and phone number.
A hashed version of your password. We never store the password itself and cannot read it.
If you sign in with Google, your Google account ID, name, email and profile picture URL.

When you become a creator

Your handle, display name, bio, category and any link you add.
Any profile picture or banner you upload.
Bank details for payouts. Your account number is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is written to the database and is only ever shown to you masked.

When you buy something

What you bought, when, and what you paid.
For physical items, the delivery details you enter — these are shared with that creator so they can ship your order.
A two-letter country code, when your connection provides one, so creators can see roughly where their supporters are.

We never see your card details. Payments are handled entirely by our payment provider on their own pages. We receive a confirmation and a transaction reference, nothing more.

Automatically

A session cookie that keeps you logged in. It is strictly necessary and cannot be turned off while you are signed in.
Your IP address, briefly, for rate limiting — to stop password guessing and abuse.
Server error logs, which may include a URL and an error message.

There are no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics scripts on this site.

Why we use it

To run your account and show you what you have bought or sold.
To take payments and pay creators.
To send transactional email: verification, receipts, sale alerts, renewal reminders, payout updates.
To keep the platform secure and to investigate fraud or abuse.
To meet our legal and tax obligations.

We only email you about things you asked for or that affect your account. If we ever add a marketing newsletter it will be opt-in and separately unsubscribable.

Who else sees it

Creators see the delivery details you enter for a physical order, and aggregate, non-identifying figures about their sales.
Our payment provider receives the information needed to process your payment.
Our hosting and email providers process data on our behalf, under contract.
Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose something.

We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone, ever.

How long we keep it

Account information: while your account is open, then removed on request.
Order and payment records: seven years, because tax law requires it.
Download links: single-use and short-lived.
Rate limiting records: cleared automatically after their window closes.
Files behind a listing: for the life of the listing. Once a listing has been unrenewed long enough, its files are deleted permanently and cannot be recovered.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

Show you a copy of what we hold about you.
Correct anything wrong — most of it you can edit yourself in your dashboard.
Delete your account and personal information, subject to records we must legally retain.
Stop using your information for anything beyond running your account.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed. Bank account numbers are encrypted at rest. Product files live outside the public web root and are only ever served through a single-use, expiring, account-checked link. No system is perfect, but if a breach ever affects you we will tell you promptly and honestly.

Children

BeMySupporter is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, please tell us and we will remove it.

Where your data lives

Our servers and email are provided by Hostinger. Your information may be processed outside the Caribbean. Wherever it sits, this policy still applies to it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email you before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
